KNOWING GOD

GENERAL QUESTION: What is the greatest achievement that a man should boast of on earth?

ANSWER:- Jer. 9:23-24. Knowing the true and living God is absolutely the greatest achievement that any man should boast of on earth. Without knowing God, any other attainment in this world is vanity.

Phil. 3:10, 7-8. Knowing God is topmost in the priorities of life. Without it all things are counted as dung, i.e. waste products!

Phil. 3:12-14. Knowing God goes beyond being born again. It is an experience beyond human intellect – Eph. 3:18-19. It is a deep understanding of God’s love towards mankind that imputes divine nature unto us – 2Pt. 1:3-4.

WHAT IS KNOWING GOD?

Jn. 10:10; Jn. 3:16 – Christ came into this world to impart us who believe with everlasting (Eternal) Life as a free gift from God.

Eternal life is defined by the Lord Himself as the knowledge of God (Jn. 17:3).

KNOW (En) = ginosko (Gk), = yada (Heb): Compare Gen. 4:1; 1Sam. 1:19; Dan. 11:32; Jn. 17:3. It is similar to the intimacy that exists between a man and his wife that results into pregnancy.

Jn. 3:16 = Knowing God is the reason why Jesus came and died for our sins. Isaiah 59:2. He died for our sins that we might know God intimately so we can be filled with the fullness of God. Eph. 3:18-19;

Phil. 3: 7-8, 10, 12-14.

(PRAY EPH. 3:16-19-PRAYER FOR YOURSELVES).
